Professor Mario T Tabucanon is Provost and Professor of Industrial Systems Engineering, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). He has been a faculty of AIT since July 1978 and held the positions of Vice President (Academic) from September 1998 to June 1999, Dean of the School of Advanced Technologies from September 1995 to August 1998, and Chairman of the then Division of Industrial Engineering and Management from August 1986 to August
1989. Prior to joining the faculty of AIT, he served as Supervising Consultant in the then Department of Industry of the Philippines, and served as a faculty member of the University of the Philippines at Diliman (Graduate Division, College of Engineering), Southwestern University and then Colegio de San Jose Recoletos both in Cebu City, Philippines.

Professor Tabucanon is on the International Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Manufacturing Systems, International Journal of Information & Management Sciences, International Journal of Operations & Quantitative Management, International Journal of Computers & Industrial Engineering, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Prioritization and Decision Making, Journal of Engineering Valuation and Cost Analysis, and the Engineering Design and Automation
Journal. He has served as Guest Editor of Special Issues/Volumes and paper reviewer of many international journals. He is credited with nearly 200 technical publications in the form of books, book chapters, international refereed journals, conference proceedings and technical reports.

Professor Tabucanon has rendered consultancy services to government agencies, research institutions, industries in the Asian Region, the Asian Development Bank, and to several United Nations agencies (ESCAP, UNIDO and NDP).Professor Tabucanon is a Board Member of the International Foundation for Production Research, a Board Member of the International Industrial Engineering Association, a Founding Member of the International Society for Multiple Criteria Decision Making, among other professional societies. His professional awards include those from the Pacific Congress on Manufacturing and Management, Gold Medal of DAAAM International, and Fellow of the
World Academy of Productivity Science.
Born on December 30, 1950 in Villaba, Leyte, Philippines, Professor Tabucanon obtained his education from the Cebu Institute of Technology (B.S.E.E. and B.S.M.E.) and the Asian Institute of Technology (M.Eng. and D.Eng.).
