Overview



As a Southeast Asian country, Vietnam shares its borders with China, Lao and Cambodia. Its land territory spreads longitudinally over 1,650 km, from North latitude of 23o22' (Dong Van) to 8o30' (Ca Mau cap), and with a maximum and minimum width of 600 km and of 50 km respectively. Vietnam is located on the pacific coast, with a total coastal length of 3,260 km and thousands of islands. The total continental area of Vietnam is about 332,000 km2 and it has a population of 76,327,919 people (as on 1/4/1999)
