Land degradation

Changes in land quality in Vietnam, particularly those related to natural conditions and man made factors have manifested in considerable degradation of land resources.  Land degradation has been defined as low fertility soils, imbalance in nutrients due to erosion, leaching, abandoning, flooding, rapid decay and mineralization of soil organic matter, and landslides. The most important of these causes are due to deforestation, drought, desertification, salinisation, acidification, urbanisation and industrialisation.
