Sub-regional Integrated Environment Assessment: Central Asia :The Central Asian sub-region consists of the following sovereign countries – Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Republic of Uzbekistan. After the collapse of former Soviet Union the Central Asian countries, with their identical historical, social and religious traditions have faced a number of similar economic, social and environmental problems.
