2. Eco-Minds
The Eco-Minds Forum provides participants with a unique opportunity to work within an international team to solve real-world problems of Sustainable Development through a multi-disciplinary approach.

3.Our Planet

4. TUNZA
In February 2003, the Governing Council of UNEP adopted a long-term strategy for engaging young people in environmental activities and in the work of UNEP. The strategy was entitled the TUNZA Youth Strategy. The word “TUNZA” means “to treat with care or affection” in Kiswahili (a sub-regional language of Eastern Africa). The overall TUNZA Concept, therefore, is built around this theme. It is an initiative that is meant to develop activities in the areas of capacity building, environmental awareness, and information exchange, with a vision to foster a generation of environmentally conscious citizens, capable of positive action.

5.SSDS, South Asia – A Youth Perspective

I. Background
Youth are important stakeholders in efforts towards sustainable development necessitating their active participation and integration into all such processes. While there has been recognition of their role and importance globally, the UN Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development (UNCED) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1992 brought it into focus through the Chapter 25 of Agenda 21. One of the important initiatives has been by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) supporting the promotion and creation of mechanisms to involve youth representation in all United Nations processes in order to influence those processes. In 2003, UNEP supported the publication of the Children of the Monsoon, a youth version of the South Asia State of the Environment report. This report was prepared by the youth, and for the youth, and highlights the environmental issues that the youth feel are important. To provide input for promoting sustainable decision making in South Asia, UNEP in collaboration with SAYEN and CEE is developing the Youth Version of the Sub-regional Sustainable Development Strategy (SSDS).
