UNEP’s Regional Resource Center for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP) with support of the Government of Norway has been implementing a project on National Sustainable Development Strategy (NSDS) in the region. The objective of the project is to assist developing countries with building capacity and achieving the target for NSDS by 2005 as committed at the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI) 2002.

To this end, the Regional Workshop will be organized on 7-8 November, 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand. The objectives of the Regional Workshop are:

• Review the existing NSDS Project at subregional, national and local levels; and
• Discuss the mechanism for implementation in the region.
