Sustainable Development Strategy for Cambodia

The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC), as a UN Member, is committed to the global and national commitments of the UN Millennium Declaration.  Cambodia has adopted several international agreements on sustainable development and environmental protection at the United Nations Conference for Economic Development (UNCED) and World Summit for Sustainable Development(WSSD)and has ratified the Millennium Development Goals(MDG’s).  In line with the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI), Cambodia committed to develop a national sustainable development strategy (NSDS) which was formulated by consolidating its Social-Economic Development Plan (SEDP), the National poverty Reduction Strategy (NPRS), a comprehensive Rectangular Strategy (2004) and aligned it with Cambodia’s Millennium Development Goals (CMDGs) and Action Plan.
